Serp Pages
April 13th, 2008 by adminThe last time there was a major change in the serp pages. There were various forums and websites where many webmasters exchanged thoughts, about what was going on in the new google algorithm update. I also noticed a heavy landslide in the ranking of my web pages.
With these web-page’s there was absolutely nothing wrong, and they did ranked very well, on such bad keyword phrases, until these last two months…
My web pages were not banned or kicked out of the google results, they only ranked on page 7 or higher.
I had been searching a couple of days, for the cause of this large serp page changes. Eventually, I found the cause of this great serp page change. It was because between the unpopular keywords I used in my article, I also used sometimes a high competitive keyword. I used this high competitive keywords not much, but probably google thought i want to rank for some competitive keywords. Sometimes, I even used some of these competitive keyword in the title tags, as part of a sentence, and I stripped or replaced these competitive keywords too.
At first I could not believe this, but my feeling told me that I have to kick out some high competitive keywords. I replaced a few highly competitive keywords by synonyms, and rewritten some phrases.
A few hours after the next googlebot crawl I noticed a big difference in my statistics, the traffic was increasing fast. My pages all came back to the positions where I had previously been, with the specific keywords. Now 2 weeks later, nothing has changed to the positions which I ranked 2 weeks ago.
So this is the result of the keyword adjustments to my pages? Probably it is…
